Humans and Other Animals is a web site designed for all those interested in the human-animal relationship.

The site has two main functions:

  • Firstly, it provides academic researchers, students and people who deal with animals in their everyday lives, both professionally or as owners, with information on and links to a wide range of anthrozoological resources.

  • Secondly, it provides me - Dr. Jo Swabe - with a forum to publicise and share the fruits of my own research into human-animal relations with the outside world. You will, for example, find a number of my own articles online, along with further details of my research activities.

This site includes a FAQ that should answer most students' questions with respect to the possibilities for studying 'anthrozoology'. There is also a introductory reading list for those seeking literature on human-animal relations. I strongly urge visitors to first consult these resources before contacting me with their enquiries!
